Summer Travels and Traditions
FRIDAY, JULY 20, 2007
In early July I joined Randy Clark and his Global Awakening’s team for their annual Youth Power Invasion. It’s a time where Randy and I train youth from North America and Brazil to do crusades and church meetings where miracles, signs, and wonders become normal. The results are quite amazing.

A great bonus was to see that my brand new iPhone worked internationally. (A few years ago I paid quite a sum of money for a Treo with international capabilities. But, I wanted to us the iPhone if possible – it is so fun to use.) It worked flawlessly. In fact, my calls home had a clearer connection than I often have when calling home in the US. I enjoy technology . . . especially all things Apple. My whole staff has been waiting with great anticipation for Apple’s new iPhone. My expectations were high. The phone surpassed it by a long shot.

I returned home from Brazil in time to join my wife, children, and grandchildren who were already on vacation. We had flown our whole tribe up to Spokane where we had use of a house on a beautiful lake. It came equipped with a ski boat, wave runners, and a whole bunch of organic groceries. We were in heaven!! It was such a great time. This vacation was not real restful – too many lively bodies!!! But it was exciting, fun, entertaining, and just an outrageously great time for all. Yeah God!!

Summers are the busiest time of the year for me in travel, which is saying quite a bit. I travel 180 days a year. But, for example, I’m in the office only 3 days in all of July. Next year I’ll make some changes. June will be a month of rest.

Our team just returned from doing a conference with Mahesh and Bonny Chavda. They are some of the greatest gifts to the body of Christ. Their prayer ministry has affected the course of history for this nation. They embody a life of prayer, devotion, intense commitment to revival, and model it all in great joy. That is a rare combination, but one we hold to tightly. They are great personal friends, and sources of unending encouragement.

Beni also spoke at the Chavda’s conference. She is such a gift to the body of Christ as she really embodies “joy in intercession.” In fact, she’s writing a book on the subject right now. Her morning session was very powerful, filled with revelation. She ended her time by laying hands on everyone in the conference for impartation. It was awesome!!

I have a rather unusual tradition for my birthday (last week.) We have our whole family come over to the house to celebrate. While they love to give me birthday gifts, the part that is a little different is that I buy very nice gifts for my children, their spouses, and the grandchildren. There is really nothing I need, and buying for them is great fun. Needless to say, my whole family loves my birthday!!
